Turn Website Questions into Leads

Most visitors are not ready to submit a contact form on arrival. They still have questions.

  • Is this service right for me?
  • How much does it cost?
  • Do you serve my area?
  • Which option applies to my case?
  • How long does setup take?
  • Can I request a demo?
  • Can I get a quote?

Without answers, the path is visit → search → uncertainty → leave.

With WebsiteChat it can be question → answer → understanding → follow-up → inquiry.

From question to lead

The job is to move interest toward a real next step: contact, demo, consultation, or quote. That is “From Question to Lead,” not “every chat is a sale.”

After at least one page is crawled, administrators can configure Conversion Goals in the console. On a high-intent turn, WebsiteChat still answers first. If a goal matches, a call-to-action can appear under the reply and open an inline lead form. Nothing is live until those goals are enabled.

WebsiteChat does not sync to a CRM, start email sequences, or book calendars. If you prefer the site’s existing form, the assistant can still point visitors there after the uncertainty is gone.

Why chat helps before a contact form

Forms ask for effort before the visitor knows whether the company fits. Common blockers:

  • Unsure they qualify
  • Unsure you handle their case
  • No sense of price range
  • Unsure it is worth contacting sales
  • Unsure what to prepare

Chat reduces that gap. It does not have to replace the form.

Questions that indicate stronger intent

  • Do you support companies of our size?
  • What does implementation cost?
  • Is there a business plan?
  • Can you support our location?
  • How long does setup take?
  • Can I request a demo?
  • Can I get an estimate?

These are stronger than a simple browse. They are still not automatic leads.

FAQ vs lead generation

FAQ stops at question → answer. Lead generation continues when interest is concrete enough for contact.

Lead generation vs AI Sales

AI Sales Lead generation
Job Help someone understand and compare options Move interest toward contact
Flow Question → comparison → understanding → choice Question → interest → inquiry

They can run in sequence: compare on AI Sales, then inquire here. Early support questions still belong on Customer Support.

Examples

  • Real estate: confirm conditions, then request a viewing
  • Professional services: confirm scope, then book a first consult
  • SaaS: check features or price, then ask for a demo
  • Education: check age or fees, then apply for a trial class

Get started

Register, crawl, test, then install the widget. Details are in the guides. Lead Generation in the console stays unavailable until the site has usable crawled knowledge.

Frequently asked questions

Can a chatbot generate leads by itself?
It can support the path. It does not guarantee inquiries. After the site is crawled, you can configure Conversion Goals so high-intent turns show a call-to-action and an inline form. Visitors can also be pointed to a contact page you already publish.
How is this different from a contact form?
A form assumes the visitor is ready to write in. Chat answers the questions that usually come first—fit, price range, coverage, timing—so the form is less of a leap.
What questions indicate purchase intent?
Pricing, eligibility, implementation time, quotes, demos, and “can you handle our case” usually show more intent than a simple hours question. Not every one of those is a lead.
Does WebsiteChat replace a salesperson?
No. It covers early information. Negotiation, custom proposals, and commitments stay with people.
Can it answer pricing questions if pricing is not published?
Only if that information exists in the configured knowledge. It should not guess a price that is not in the source.
